The 'Mexican Giant' is a beautiful, slow-growing Echeveria cultivar that produces fleshy, lance-shaped foliage in a rosette formation, with older leaves that blush various shades of pink. Rosettes grow to around 30cm in diameter, and the whole plant is covered in what is known as epicuticular wax, giving this Echeveria a frosty look. Salmon-pink to orange flowers emerge as a cluster on a long stalk from winter to late spring.
CARE:
Prefers a warm, sunny position, though avoid harsh, midday summer sun. Use a well-draining potting soil, ideally a specifically formulated cacti & succulent mix, and water only when soil is dry. Fertilise in spring with a cacti & succulent specific fertiliser to encourage rigorous growth and strong roots.
PLEASE NOTE:
All pictures are of plants currently for sale or previously sold at The Tropic Gardener. The plant photographed should be used as an indication of size and quality only and may not be the exact plant you receive. Form and colour will vary slightly.
