Commonly referred to as the 'Pigskin Philodendron', this rare philodendron variety is native to the montane forests of Ecuador. It's heart-shaped foliage has an unusual, leathery texture, not unlike that of pigskin, and being a climber, the newest leaves will increase in size as the plant grows.
The philodendron rugosum has recently been classified as 'near threatened', and is therefore very rarely found on the market. This is a mature specimen, and we only have one to offer, so make sure to add it to your collection today!
CARE:
Prefers a warm, humid spot with bright indirect light indoors, or outdoors in a sheltered position. Use a well-draining potting soil (an aroid mix is ideal) and allow soil to partially dry out before watering. Fertilise throughout spring and summer.
PLEASE NOTE:
This plant is too large to post safely, and is therefore only available for pick up in store at our nursery in Kenmore, QLD. The plant pictured is the exact plant you will receive. Please carefully inspect all photos and ensure you are satisfied before purchasing.
