Rhaphidophora hayi is a stunning shingling plant, that is actually native to Australia! This beauty produces deep, glossy, emerald green leaves with a smooth, leathery texture. When attached to a totem, the leaves will increase in size as the plant climbs, eventually reaching around 12cm in length. The Raphidophora hayi is exceptionally easy to care for, and is great plant for beginner collectors to try their hand at growing a shingling plant.
Prefers a warm, humid spot with bright indirect light indoors, or outdoors in a sheltered position. Use a well-draining potting soil (an aroid mix is ideal) and keep moist but not wet. Fertilise throughout spring and summer. Provide your plant with a totem, in order to allow it to attach and reach its full shingling potential.
