Scindapsus pictus is the cool older cousin to the regular pothos varieties. Whilst still growing heart-shaped leaves, the satin pothos produces thick velvet leaves with silver markings.

The ‘Silver Lady’ variety is known for producing long, thin leaves with predominantly silver leaves, and is one of the uncommon varieties.

This is a good choice as a cascading plant from a hanger or high shelf or can be staked to encourage climbing. If you prefer, tying the stem to a textured pole so it can attach aerial roots will result in larger leaves. If you are looking for an easy-care uncommon plant to start you off, we would highly recommend this beauty.

CARE:

Perfect for a warm position indoors with bright light. Let top soil dry between watering. For best results, feed monthly during warmer months and use a good quality potting mix.

TIP: leaves on scindapsus curl when thirsty.

PLEASE NOTE:

All pictures are of plants currently for sale or previously sold at The Tropic Gardener. The plant photographed should be used as an indication of size and quality only, and may not be the exact plant you receive. Form and colour will vary slightly.

Care instructions:
We recommend a quality well-draining mix to provide aeration and deter root rot. A good way to gauge if your plant needs a drink is to feel the soil with your finger. Test to see if the soils is still wet a couple centimetres down. The same test can be done with a moisture meter but be sure to sample multiple spots to get an accurate reading. Remember that the rate of watering provided is a guide only and should be adjusted depending on your potting medium and the environment in which you keep your plant. Happy gardening!
